I hope there is enough words to tell about my wonderful compassionate vet. I've been going to Dr. Darnell for 20 years. My first pet Hunie was a Sharpei who developed glaucoma. The med worked about a year but then stopped working and Dr.Darnell said her eyes had to be removed asap. If he didn't the worst eye would explode. He amazingly researched the surgery and talked to other colleges as he'd never done the surgery. The eye exploded in his hand but he nursed her back to health. He kept her over 2 weeks and didn't charge me. There were times he not only gave me discounts but would let me make payments. My next 2 dogs were Yorkies, Daphne and Daisy. They were 6 months apart and from different parents. They both lived 14 and 13 years. They both eventually had to be put to sleep due to illnesses and didn't want them to suffer. They passed 5 months apart. One thing that Dr.did that people had never heard of was give them a shot first to sedate them to sleep, then the shot to stop the heart. So compassionate. There was a couple of times that tears ran down his face when he put them to sleep. Non he takes care of Chaser, my Brussels Griffon. He thinks he's a character. He also played with the fur babies if they felt ok. I will always have a special place for Wesley Darnell, God's gift to animals.
